Take care of your Uniform Pant

Three simple rules

1. Wash it less

not after every wear. hang it up overnight and let it air, and most of the time that's all it needs. a mark on the leg comes off with a damp cloth, no need to wash the whole pair. every ten wears or so is enough, or when it actually needs it. that's how it keeps its shape and colour, and wears in instead of wearing out.

2. Never the tumble dryer

when it does need a wash: turn it inside out, 30 degrees, gentle cycle, a mild detergent. no bleach, no softener. then hang it to dry by the waistband and pull the seams straight while it's still damp. never the tumble dryer. the heat shrinks the cotton and wears out the fabric faster than anything else you can do to it.

3. Fix it, don't replace it

a worn hem, a loose button, a seam that's given up: none of it means the pant is done. any tailor can fix it in a day, for a fraction of what a new pair costs. and if you're not sure it can be saved, write to us before you give up on it. we'd rather you kept this one.
